Supporting the most vulnerable
United Way Niagara facilitates the following local initiatives to fill current gaps in service and do local good in our region.
After School Matters is a network of free after-school programs delivering quality educational, recreational, and leisure activities.
This program provides children and youth from low-income households with the needed items for a successful school year.
Welcome Home Kits provide basic household supplies to individuals and families transitioning from shelters to permanent housing.
211 is an award-winning telephone help line that assists people in navigating the complex network of human services quickly, easily, and for free.
Providing Hygiene Kits for people who may be experiencing homelessness, living in shelters, living in poverty or in precarious situations.
Food security is a growing issue in Niagara. United Way founded the Niagara Food Security Network in 2019 to foster collaboration between all stakeholders to ultimately improve the food security for everyone in Niagara.
The Niagara Community Garden Network is a collaborative network of local food security leaders working together to build thriving community gardens.
Periods might be tough to talk about sometimes, but they are a fact of life. Sadly, too many people can’t afford them. You can change that.
Together, we are working to build stronger, healthier communities, promote food security and food literacy, reduce the effects of poverty, and expand our social and environmental impacts in Niagara.
